Founding donor, board candidate, sponsoring business, instructor, volunteer, community partner — Luna runs on Wilmington's people. Pick the door that fits.
From event setup to social media to teaching assistants. 50 active volunteers by year's end.
Apply to volunteer →Local artists, musicians, and culture-keepers — bring your discipline. Paid stipend per session.
Apply to teach →Five to seven seats. Expertise plus community credibility. Two-year founding commitment.
Express board interest →Restaurants, bars, salons, banks — your business can underwrite a class, a series, or a year.
See sponsor tiers →Paint, instruments, chairs, printing, food. In-kind support stretches every cash dollar.
See what we need →Schools, churches, community centers, galleries. Partnerships are our highest-leverage growth tool.
Start a conversation →Luna moves from 50 active volunteers in year one toward a structured volunteer corps in year two.
Every volunteer completes a short application, signs a code of conduct, and commits to a 60–90 day schedule. Volunteers who work directly with minors complete background checks.
Volunteer groups:
Luna hires Wilmington artists as educators, performers, and cultural workers. Stipend is set by the board's artist payment policy and paid the week of the class.
You can propose a one-off workshop, a four-week series, a Luna Night performance slot, or a Rotating Method residency for one of the twelve disciplines.
What we look for:
Background checks are completed before any teaching that involves minors.
The founding board is five to seven directors. Each brings either functional expertise, community credibility, or both.
Service is a serious commitment: quarterly meetings, committee work, financial responsibility, and full participation in setting up the institution properly from day one. Founding board members shape what Luna becomes.
Seats we're recruiting for:
Partnerships bring audience, credibility, and often in-kind support that would cost real cash to replicate. They are how a young nonprofit grows past its founder's network.
